Mission Statement

The mission of Frederick Douglass Christian School is to empower our students through a Christ-centered education. Our vision is to provide a strong, nurturing, and safe educational environment where our students have a solid Christian foundation and a traditional elementary school path. FDCS will also teach strong social-emotional skills founded upon Christian principles.

Description

Frederick Douglass Christian School is located in Chester, PA, near the base of the Commodore Barry Bridge. Historically a segregated school built in 1931, it has been operating as a non-denominational Christian School welcoming all children since 1994. FDCS offers education from the Kindergarten level through the fifth grade. The management of the school is under the direction of Greater Exodus Ministries. FDCS has begun the process to become accredited with ACSI, the Association of Christian Schools International.

Besides an academic program, FDCS offers a number of programs, many of which are run by volunteers. Programs offered at FDCS include:

  • Art
  • Gym
  • Computers
  • Music
  • Library
  • After School Programs
  • Student-run chapel
  • Basketball program for the community in the evenings
FDCS welcomes volunteers to partner with us to help the educationally disenfranchised and economically under-resourced students to help them reach their full potential and provide avenues of opportunities academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
