Mission Statement
The Airway Science for Kids program exposes youth, especially those who are socially and economically challenged, to activities that inspire their interest and growth toward higher learning and careers in aerospace, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Description
ASK uses aviation and the excitement it brings to inspire extracurricular learning of applied math science, engineering and computer technology. Specifically, the ASK program works to: Prevent academic failures and school dropouts. Break the cycle of economic disadvantage. Provide early intervention to assist preparation of children for academic success. Assist in the early preparation for high tech, high salary jobs. Spark interest in lifelong learning. How we do it An aerospace atmosphere is created in order to promote inquiry, discovery, creative thinking and cooperative learning through the use of computer based flight simulations, model engineering and construction, and contact with people in aviation, science and engineering careers.
