Mission Statement

The Napa Valley Museum provides a venue for unique experiences that enrich the cultural fabric of our community through exhibitions and educational programs. The Museum places the Napa Valley in a worldwide context by inspiring residents and visitors to learn about the art, history and environment of the region.

Description

The Museum maintains a collection that includes objects, paper records, speciments, photographs and graphic images, videotapes, published materials, and works of art. The collections are owned as a means of preserving the Valley's natural and cultural history. Making collections accessible to researchers and other institutions serves to advance knowledge and deepen the understanding of the Napa Valley.

The Napa Valley Museum presents public programs that include distinguished speakers, tours, travel, children's programs, workshops, seminars and classes. Public programs are a means of attracting interest in the Museum and disseminating information about the environmental, cultural, and artistic heritage of the Napa Valley to the public.
