I have felt very welcome at this organization. It is a highly organized retail environment run solely by volunteers with donations/purchases made by the public. As it is a retail environment, encompassing all positions of a brick-and-mortar bookstore. Thus, you need to read the position descriptions carefully before committing to one that you may not be physically capable of completing. There are positions that accommodate all physical abilities. My three years of volunteering with this organization has afforded upward mobility with increased responsibility and variety of tasking. I've gained many new friends. The biggest reward is knowing the contribution that is being made to the Camarillo Public Library.

I was given the job of cleaning the books, stickers come off and price books. There was no one there to talk to until a nice lady appeared. You must lift heavy boxes after you are done with the books. Sitting for 4 hours is also a trial if you cannot do that. The only thing they have you do is cleaning. I had hoped it would be more friendly and fun. It was not. Be careful if you cannot lift boxes.
