America on Wheels' mission, as a world class transportation museum, is to educate people and preserve the historical, social and cultural impact of our nation's over-the-road transportation systems, while contributing to the revitalization of its community.

The museum offers interactive learning opportunities while addressing contemporary issues such as safety and the environment. It will offer the public new ways of looking at the development of transportation technology while presenting transportation in its broader and historical context.
