Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The YWCA of the Greater Baltimore Area seeks to empower women to lead and succeed, and to promote economic opportunity and justice for all races.
We belong to YWCA USA, a national network of local YWCAs. YWCA USA's mission is to eliminate racism and empower women. Strengthened by diversity, the Association draws together members who strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and power in order to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. The Association will thrust its collective power toward the elimination of racism wherever it exists and by any means necessary.
Founded in 1883, the YWCA of the Greater Baltimore Area is currently in its 125th year of providing essential services to the most vulnerable members of our community. Programs include transitional housing for homeless women and children; affordable, high-quality child care for working families; after-school programs for at-risk young people in West Baltimore; and a Youth Leadership Initiative, among others.
The YWCA's service area includes Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, northern Anne Arundel, and Carroll County. We are currently in a period of rejuvenation and growth, and seek volunteers in a number of programs and capacities.
Our headquarters is centrally located across the street from the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore's Midtown District.
