Mission Statement

Helping Assist Nepal's Disabled is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The vision of H.A.N.D is to reach out and to assist Nepalis in the remote regions of Nepal who are poor and suffer from physical and mental disabilities of all types. Our long term vision after their immediate medical needs have been improved is to then assist them in setting up a micro business in order to empower the Nepali to earn an income if they are currently unemployed due to their disability.

Description

(a) to provide assistance to Nepalis with physical and mental disabilities such as amputees, blind, deaf, leprosy, stroke, cerebral palsy and burns;

(b) to conduct ongoing and further research on disability needs of the Nepali people;

(c) to educate Nepalis with disabilities on future ways to care for their medical needs

(d) to provide long term medical assistance to Nepalis with disabilities such as leprosy whereas the disabled person has ongoing long term medical needs;

(e) to educate and assist Nepalis with disabilities in learning new skills to allow them to be gainfully employed or create a micro business to support themselves with in their home country of Nepal;

(f) to coordinate short term volunteer medical professionals in providing medical treatment to Nepalis with disabilities;

(g) to expand and redefine our research, educational and medical assistance to Nepalis with disabilities from time to time as necessary to meet the continuing challenge of assisting Nepal's disabled.
