The Leukemia Society of America's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Description

The Leukemia Society of America, Inc. is a national voluntary health agency dedicated soley to seeking the cause of and eventual cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's diease and myeloma. The Society was established in 1949 as the de Villers Foundation, named in memory of Robert de Villers, a young man who died of leukemia. The organization became the Leukemia Society of America in 1967 in recognition of its national scope.
