The Illinois State Museum is the only museum with the mission to document and present the story of Illinois. As an institution, we aspire to achieve prominence and be recognized for the quality and vitality of our programs that help tell this story. Through the integration of research, collections, and education, the Museum strives to promote learning and inspire stewardship and sustainable use of Illinois' natural and cultural resources, thereby improving the quality of life of our citizenry.
