Mission Statement
To reach out to individuals who have been traumatized by life's circumstances through the arts and recreational programing.
Populatins include, women and children in shelters and transition, abuse victums, HIV.AIDS patients, and seniors.
Provide opportuities for volunteers to interact with communities we serve, and develope leadership working with unique population groups.
Use art craft and design as an educational tool, develop skills in over 40 areas a year, develop students talents and gifts in art and design, be a support system while they are going through difficult circumstances.
Description
Gifted Hands has started over 50 art, design and craft programs in NYC, Africa and Honduras. We go into city shelters, churches, HIV/AIDS and Abuse centers, teach art and design classes, dance classes,extend our help through building community, giving life skill lessons, and connect students to mentors if applicable, and teaching art and design. We assist the student in building communication skills, art and design techniques, painting, jewelry design, water colors, collage, paper mache, chinese painting,pastels, stamping, scrap booking, card making, experimental art,crocheting and knitting, special events,and brunches.
