Mission Statement

The Mammojam Music Festival supports breast cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment programs by raising money through a series of live music and artistic performances. Mammojam is for public benefit and carries out charitable purposes by providing; aid and relief to those distressed with breast cancer, funding to compliment government support of breast cancer education and prevention programs, and support to charitable organizations that provide breast cancer prevention and treatment services.

Description

MammoJam was created in October, 2003 by two friends with a passion for live music and loved ones who survived breast cancer. Since the first music festival in 2004, MammoJam has used live music performances and artistic showcases to promote the importance of early breast cancer diagnosis and treatment and to insure access to these vital resources for un and underinsured and homeless women in the Baltimore area.

Mammojam is proud to be working with great organizations like the Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy Medical Center , the Breast and Cervical Cancer Center at Harbor Hospital , and the Cancer Support Foundation to provide diagnostic and treatment services to women who need them most.

MammoJam's fundraising events include the MammoJam Music Festival held each winter featuring nationally renowned acts and the Gallery of Life that showcases breast cancer and survivor themed artwork by talented elementary aged artists in Anne Arundel County.

As our organization and commitment to funding worthwhile programs for underinsured women grows, so to will the scope and size of our events. For example, in 2009 we are planning a large scale (1000+) fundraiser in Baltimore City with a high profile musical headliner. With this growth comes the need to expand the size and expertise of our Board of Directors so we may maintain the high level of leadership and innovation that have enabled us to support so many women and worthwhile programs.
