Mission Statement
The mission of the Armed Services YMCA of the USA, on behalf of the National Council of Young Men’s Christian Associations of the United States of America, is to put Christian principles into practice through educational, recreational, and social programs and services for military personnel, both single and married and their family members. The mission is carried out in cooperation with the military.
Description
More than 60,000 military members and their families are stationed in Alaska, far away from home, many in remote parts of the state. They serve in the bitter Alaskan cold and dark, and face repeat deployments to dangerous war zones, and sometimes they don’t come home...
Military life takes a toll on the service member and their family - sometimes financial, emotional, social...The Armed Services YMCA is here to "Making Military Life Easier."
The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization exemplifying the American spirit of caring. The mission of the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska is to provide support to service members and their families through educational, recreational, and social programs.
We provide more than 30 programs and services for the military in Alaska to help minimize the toll these heroes face - to make life a little bit easier as a way of saying "Thank You." Thank you for your service, commitment, courage, and your sacrifice.
