Description

Literacy Initiative offers volunteer tutor workshops throughout the year, in which we train volunteers to tutor nonreaders, low-level readers, and English-as-a-second language students.

We only ask 3 hours a week of our volunteers to meet one-on-one with their student. Tutoring sessions can happen in any public location, like here at the Y, the public library, on a school campus, even Starbucks!

All training and materials needed are provided free of charge to the tutors, and the classes are free of charge to our students!
