Be a Voice for a Child’s Future a Message to Whatcom County Residents: Every child deserves an advocate; someone who listens, understands, and fights for their best interests. As a Volunteer Guardian ad Litem (GAL), you’ll be that voice for children navigating the court system, many of whom are facing uncertainty, and in some cases, trauma from neglect or abuse. Your work will give these children a chance to feel seen, heard, and supported. You’ll build connections, advocate for their needs, and provide vital recommendations to help judges make informed decisions about their care and future. You don’t need legal experience-just compassion, a commitment to helping others, and the desire to create change. We are looking for caring individuals who reflect the communities and children of Whatcom County. Be the adult a child feels comfortable with-someone who understands their world, community, and makes them feel seen and represented. We’ll provide the training, resources, and guidance to ensure you can succeed in this impactful role. LOCATED AT WHATCOM COUNTY COURTHOUSE: 311 Grand Avenue Suite 501 Bellingham WA 98225 **The ZIP code on the volunteer posting does not represent the address of the Whatcom County Courthouse. It was chosen to ensure outreach to communities across all of Whatcom County.
