We assist our clients on their personal journey toward healing with hands-on equine assisted therapy.
Equine Partnership Program (EPP) was founded in 2006 by Executive Director Lee Dudley. Lee, a licensed child and family therapist, saw that therapy in an office setting wasn’t yielding positive or emotionally corrective experiences for the children she saw-specifically those who had been the victims of abuse or neglect. She also knew that kids living in disadvantaged, at-risk neighborhoods were the ones most likely in need of services, but were also the ones least likely to seek care due to the high costs. Lee created EPP as a way to serve at-risk youth through an effective, affordable approach-using horses as a catalyst for personal and emotional growth. In 2010, Lee Dudley moved EPP to Haven Farms in Elizabeth, Colorado and added two therapists: Dr. Kathy Magill and Tom Powell. In 2015, EPP expanded and moved to a larger and more private facility-Victory Farms in Elizabeth, Colorado. At the end of 2015, the Board of Directors met and agreed to expand EPP’s offerings to include physical and occupational therapy-ensuring its mission of "assisting clients on their personal journey toward healing" encompassed both mental and physical healing. EPP hired Ciana Dodgion, MSW, CTRI, to teach individuals with physical, behavioral, and developmental disabilities through therapeutic riding instruction.
