Description

The Center for the Empowerment of Families Inc., (CEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2006 by Dr. Sharon Jacques-Rabb. Our Youth Trauma Intervention Initiative focuses on effective treatment and prevention of trauma in youth. Trauma, left untreated, can manifest itself in behaviors resulting in violent crime, school dropout, as well as further perpetuation of trauma in communities and families.

To set trauma survivors on a path towards recovery, CEF has created a trust building system of trauma-informed mentorship. The system is designed to encourage youth exposed to trauma to be optimistic, identify healthy mental health support systems, and apply resilient life skills.
