Mission Statement

Founded in 1903, Bideawee's mission is to promote and support safe, loving long-term relationships between people and companion animals by providing a continuum of service and programs that are innovative, personalized and high quality. Bideawee's programs and services include adoption and counseling, veterinary services for resident animals and for private client animals, learning centers for people and pets, elder care, memorial parks, and the second start program, wherein adoptable dogs and cats in local municipal shelters are identified and brought to adoption centers for a second start at finding a new home.

Bideawee is one of the leading animal welfare organizations that help place homeless, neglected cats, dog, kittens and puppies in permanent loving homes. Bideawee operates one facility in New York City and two on Long Island, one in Wantagh, and one in Westhampton. We offer innovative adoption, veterinary care, education, behavioral training and other services.
