Description

Our Purpose: Our purpose is to bring the home, the school, and the community together with community events and awareness programs. As is the case with most public schools, Marshall Elementary struggles to maintain its exceptional staff and high standards. Our goals are to compensate for the loss of arts, music, and cultural programs, and encourage the exploration of our beautiful central coasts as a living, learning environment. The Marshall Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of our children.

Our Goals: As a non-profit organization we rely heavily on others to help us fulfill our goals. We reach out regularly to our solid volunteer base, and do most of out funding in the fall to fund our programs throughout the year. Our principle (and fairly ambitious) goal is to fund an arts and music program which is something sadly lacking at most public schools today. Every year we also give each teacher a grant to cover some of his or her classroom expenses. Our Scholastic Book Fairs help us stock our library and we also respond to teachers' requests for science and educational materials as they are needed. Our fundraising efforts, as well as membership dues, also cover the cost of assemblies and bussing for fieldtrips. In addition to these goals, the PTA also organizes various activities, community events and awareness programs.
