Mission Statement

Rochester Civic Theatre is a non-profit, voluntary community organization that educates and enriches the adults and young people of Rochester and southeastern Minnesota through the production and performance of live theatre.

Description

Rochester Civic Theatre produces 6 main stage musical and drama performances per year. In addition, we produce 2 family orientated shows per year.

Rochester Civic Theatre also has a comprehensive education program that includes the nine month Theatre Academy program that runs concurrent to the school year plus a series of two week theatre camps in the summer.

For over 20 years, Rochester Civic Theatre is proud to maintain one of the longest continually running sexual abuse awareness and education programs of its kind in the state. Our Touch and No Easy Answers troupes present over 80 performances each year, educating children in the areas of good and bad touch, date rape, incest and proper and improper behaviors. More then 20 volunteers, working in rotating troupes, staff our programs. These dedicated individuals take time from their daily work schedules to donate their talents to teaching our young people that they have the right to personal protection and that there are places for them to turn for help and guidance.
