Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide services to those who are homeless, advocate for effective public policies to rebuild the lives of all low-income individuals living within the Greater New Orleans area, and work to prevent new homelessness as we rebuild our city.

Description

Founded in 1992 as a private-public partnership, UNITY of Greater New Orleans is the lead agency for a collaborative of 63 non-profit and governmental agencies that provide housing and services for people experiencing homelessness. UNITY implements evidence-based strategies to end homelessness in the New Orleans area, engages in strategic planning, trains service providers, and performs programmatic monitoring and evaluation. The work necessary to carry out UNITY's mission to coordinate community partnerships to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness is not possible without the concern and generosity of caring people, businesses, and philanthropic organizations throughout our community and our nation.
