Description

The Hyde Collection is a world-class fine arts museum with a permanent collection that spans the history of western art from the 4th century BC through the 20th century. Included in the collection are such noted European Old Masters as Botticelli, da Vinci, Rembrandt and Rubens, as well as modern works by such masters as Cezanne, Picasso, Renoir and van Gogh. American artists Eakins, Hassam, Homer, Peto, Ryder and Whistler are also featured. The collection is displayed in an Italianate Renaissance villa built in 1912. A 12,000 sq. ft. Education Wing added in 1989 includes three gallery spaces, an auditorium, art studio and Museum Shop. This addition allows the Museum to offer year-round events including temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, family and school programs.
