Mission Statement

Purpose The purpose of this Society is to organize and operate a county Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to and neglect of animals, as provided in Section 1717.05 of the revised Code of the State of Ohio. This corporation is not: for the purpose of monetary profit. ARTICLE IV Objectives The objectives of this Society are: 1. To prevent cruelty to or neglect of animals. 2. To enforce laws for the prevention of cruelty to or neglect of animals. 3. To secure by lawful means the arrest, conviction and punishment of any person or persons violating such laws. 4. To take possession of an animal that is being mistreated or abused in accordance with Section 1717.13 and 1717.08 of the laws of the State of Ohio. 5. To disseminate information with respect to humane practices and principles and to teach and educate the public concerning the humane treatment of all living things. 6. To provide humane care and treatment of animals needing protection; to cooperate with all other similar organizations, individuals and officials in s uch efforts; and to provide euthanasia of animals when necessary at discretion of the board. 7. To promote the practice of spaying and neutering of animals. 8. To acquire and hold property to be utilized for purposes of this Society 9. To do such other acts as may be required or permitted by Ohio Revised Code Section 1717.02.
