Mission Statement

HER Resiliency Center gives young women ages 18 to 25, either transitioning out of foster care or overcoming hardship, a safe environment where they can receive the support, skills, and resources they need to make positive decisions, so that they not only survive, but thrive.

Description

At HER Resiliency Center, your problems do not define you. Each young woman who comes to the center is first asked what she likes about herself; personal identification of strengths could take encouragement, as this may be the first opportunity for her to reflect. Leveraging her strengths to help her envision a positive future, every participant is asked about her goals for education, employment, housing, interpersonal relationships, and mental health and/or substance abuse treatment. Existing supports are identified and invited to participate in the process of change.
