Mission Statement

Purrs & Whiskers, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving Stafford, Virginia and its surrounding areas, whose mission is to employ the best practices of the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) philosophy. For those deemed adoptable, we provide temporary foster care while actively seeking loving permanent living situations. This is accomplished by providing compassion, daily nourishment, and basic wellness care for both individual cats, as well as colonies of free-roaming, homeless cats living outdoors. When feasible, we will collaborate with local shelters in an effort to relieve over-crowding by identifying and adopting out shelter cats into appropriate, permanent living situations.

This quote is exactly what we're all about. A group of experienced cat rescuers, with a common vision, have joined forces to created Purrs & Whiskers, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit TNR/Rescue group right here in North Stafford with some very dedicated people, each with a unique set of skills and resources that can really make a difference! Our goal is simple... no cat should ever suffer. Between adoptions, fosters, and TNR programs, we take care of as many cats in the community as possible. The Purrs & Whiskers team invites YOU to join our team of friendly volunteers & learn how you can help the kitties in the community! Whether you are interested in trapping, fostering, crafting goodies to sell, or representing P&W at events, we'd love to meet you!
