Mission Statement

The mission of Discovery Station at Hagerstown, Inc. is to promote informal learning about science, technology and local history through exhibits and programs that are both educational and entertaining. The primary audiences served include individuals, families and school groups from around the region, as well as tourists.

Description

Discovery Station is a non-profit volunteer-run science museum dedicated to providing an exciting learning environment for curious minds of all ages.

Discovery Station creates an environment that stimulates curiosity for discovery, exploration, and further investigation. We pride ourselves on creating exciting, hands-on learning experiences. Children and adults alike love to visit! Since opening in May 2005, we’ve been acclaimed by the community, the media and our diverse visitors as an outstanding example of an interactive museum that serves people of all ages and interests.

Our unique educational resources, programs and interactive exhibits on science, technology and history are available to everyone in the tristate area. Located in the heart of downtown Hagerstown, Maryland, we’re just a short drive from southwestern Pennsylvania and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.’
