Calling all tree planters to Lower Gales Creek planting site in Forest Grove, OR! Get outside for this fun, active tree planting work party -- make a difference in a few short hours! Please arrive by 8:45am to sign-in and be assigned a planting crew. The planting starts at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun! How do I register? Go to the Friends of Trees calendar (friendsoftrees.org/event-calendar/), select this event, and fill out the short registration form to save your place. Group and individuals welcome! Under age 18? We request that youth 15 and under volunteer with a parent/guardian. Youth 16 and older can volunteer on their own and will need to hand us a youth waiver form (friendsoftrees.org/youthwaiver) signed by their parent/guardian. We hope to plant trees with you soon! Help needed to plant trees at this community workparty in NE Salem! Dozens of large (6-10' tall) trees will be ready for planting in their new homes, and your help is what makes this community planting possible! Please arrive by 8:45am to sign-in and be assigned a planting crew. The planting starts at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun! You will travel from the meeting location to several planting sites in the nearby neighborhood (up to several miles). We recommend private transportation (bike or vehicle), but there may be an option to carpool if others in your small planting crew are also comfortable with this. How do I register? Join Friends of Trees for some planting fun with the City of Beaverton -- you'll be planting native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers in the Greenway Neighborhood of Beaverton! This is the first year in a multi-year planting effort to establish a pollinator hedgerow and native forest habitat in this vital community space.
