Mission Statement

"The mission of Dallas Children's Theater is to inspire young people to creative and productive lives through the art of theater."

Description

Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) delights and enlightens young audiences with plays based on classic literature, folk tales, myths, and contemporary stories. It also commissions original works and stage adaptations of literary sources relevant to today's families. DCT's arts-in-education programs incorporate multi-sensory theater activities into literacy learning for both children and adults, with powerful effect. Extensive outreach initiatives bring DCT shows to disadvantaged and minority youth, many of whom would otherwise have no exposure to professional theater. DCT theater technique classes nurture the fledgling talent of future stage performers. The Young Adult Relevant Drama program focuses on issues and interests of the under-served teen audience.
