Pet therapy volunteers are wanted to join the Bridges Hospice volunteer team! Pet therapy has such a positive impact on our patients. Pet therapy provides support, companionship, unconditional love and uplifts the spirits of our patients. This opportunity is very flexible and so fulfilling! Just taking the time once or twice a month to visit your assigned patient with your furry friend will make someone's entire week. If you have a well behaved pet that you think would enjoy making visits to brighten our patients' days, this is an opportunity for you. This opportunity takes place in private homes or in multiple nursing facilities in the Cranberry and surrounding areas. Patient assignments are made based on location convenient to you, so you don't have to worry about a far commute.

As a part of our bereavement services here at Bridges, we offer patients' families Memory Bears as a comforting keepsake after their loved one passes. Memory bears are created from meaningful items of clothing from that loved one. All other supplies are provided by Bridges Hospice. Sewing machine and work space at home to sew would be required for this opportunity. Bridges Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to make bereavement calls to the families of hospice patients that have passed. This opportunity can be done at our office locations or in the comfort of your own home on a monthly basis. Volunteers will be provided with proper training and a script to follow prior to starting this opportunity. The Bereavement Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator will work together to ensure you are comfortable, confident and always get the support you need to provide this volunteer service successfully.
