Mission Statement
The Legal Aid Society of Columbus (LASC), a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, was created by the Columbus Bar Association in 1953 to provide legal aid in civil matters that ensures access to justice for economically disadvantaged people in Central Ohio through advocacy, education and empowerment.
Description
The Legal Aid Society of Columbus provides civil legal representation to low income individuals in Central Ohio in the areas of housing, family, tax, health and public benefits, consumer, re-entry and education. We operate a wide variety of clinics throughout the area. We provide a range of services from legal advice to representation in appeals and affirmative federal litigation. We assist with direct representation and each area also has an impact plan targeting systemic problems.
