Mission Statement

To foster and promote public knowledge of, and interest in, the history and culture of the peoples of Carteret County and related areas through the collection, preservation, interpretation, and documentation of written and tangible artifacts and remains.

Description

The History Place is located on the corner of 11 and Arendell Streets in downtown Morehead City. It houses the museum and exhibit gallery, the Jack Spencer Goodwin Research Library, a classroom, the Les Ewen Auditorium/Banquet Room, Museum Store and offices. The "Tea Clipper", a tea shop and tea cafe, is also located in the building. Through exhibits and displays, the story of Carteret County's past is told. Free Admission. Open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Phone: (252) 247-7533.
