Mission Statement

We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the arts as vital to community life in the Rivertowns of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, and Irvington, New York. Since our inception in 1963, we have presented arts events and educational experiences to Rivertowns audiences of all ages. We tap both the rich creative resources of our own communities -- home to many first-rank artists in a wide array of fields -- and the cultural abundance of nearby New York City.

Description

Our goal is to make the arts accessible to all in the Rivertowns! Founded in 1963, the Rivertowns Arts Council (RAC) is the unchallenged leader in support and celebration of creativity throughout the Rivertowns. We are now in our 43rd year. This is an amazing accomplishment for a local grass-roots organization, especially one that began in the living rooms of a handful of Hastings-on-Hudson residents devoted to the arts. Forty years later we are 600 members strong and growing! And our programming has also grown to cover the entire spectrum of the arts. This year's events promise the same level of excitement and enjoyment, for young and old alike.
