In the movie theater of our retirement community at Oaknoll, you can help out by setting up and starting the movie each week for our residents! You will make sure the movie works right, the volume is appropriate, and then kick back and enjoy the movie with the residents! Easy volunteer hours and you can even do homework/study during the movie!

Come be a smiling face and a joyful presence on Thanksgiving day while helping serve our Thanksgiving lunch! Volunteers will help serve food and drinks and deliver meals on Thanksgiving day, assist with bringing residents to the lunch, and help bring normalcy and joy to the residents lives.

Oaknoll Retirement Residence is looking to develop a second "Toddler Time" group for our residents to enjoy. Toddler Time is meant to be a group of parents who bring their children in to play with our residents on a recurring basis. Oaknoll has toys, puzzles, books, and other fun things for the kiddos to enjoy while the residents delight in watching them play, or cuddling a baby. Summertime can also consist of going outdoors to draw with chalk or going to the splash pad a block away. Whether you already have a group of parents or nanny's in mind, or if you'd like to sign up individually and we make our own group, either option is acceptable to us! This is a win-win-win, intergenerational experience! It's a great opportunity for you to have a little break while your kiddos play, plus you make a lasting difference on the elderly recipients' day/week, plus your children are getting experience interacting with elderly. Evening program volunteers at Oaknoll help walk with residents to the evening programs/performances, sit with them during the program, help return them to their apartments, and help tear down the venue afterwards. This provides you with the opportunity to build relationships with the residents and help them experience joy and entertainment.

Come to Oaknoll and be a friendly visitor for our residents! Engage in one-to-one conversation and activities with them, providing opportunities for engagement, interaction, and enjoyment. Time spent with residents may include conversation, coffee, puzzles, reading, music, walks, etc!
