Mission Statement
The mission of the Brevard Homeless Coalition is to provide a system of coordinated services to prevent and eliminate homelessness in Brevard County.
Description
Vision: Everyone should have a safe, stable place to call home. Homelessness should be rare, brief, and nonrecurring. The Brevard Homeless Coalition (BHC) is established as the Lead Agent for the Continuum of Care (CoC) in Brevard County (non-profit 501(c)3 corporation). It has a strong, active board operational consisting of a combination of concerned civic leaders, companies, organizations, citizens and frontline providers. The acknowledged best practice of Housing First has been adopted. A Co-ordinated Assessment process has been implemented. A highly successful focus on Veterans has shown that the model works. 60 individuals and/or families have been housed since July 1st project launch. 40 Families and 75 individuals are identified, prioritized, and in line for appropriate housing interventions.
