Recieve and appropriately handle incoming crisis line calls. The St. Jude House crisis line operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Responsibilities 3-4-hour crisis line coverage between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Appropriately log crisis call information as instructed Ability to perform additional small tasks when or if time warrants . Qualifications Completion of Volunteer Orientation/Training as it relates to crisis intervention. Basic telephone techniques. Willingness to learn. Non-judgmental attitude. Dependable.

Provide mothers as well as Children’s Department staff with assistance in childcare to promote opportunities to work toward goals and attend group sessions. Responsibilities Monitor children during group/shelter hours Plan and lead age-appropriate, trauma-informed activities. Ensure safety and respectful behavior between children. Offering emotional support. Working closely with advocates and Mom so everyone stays informed of the child’s needs. Maintaining a clean, child-safe environment (sanitize toys, secure furniture, check supplies) Qualifications Completion of Volunteer Orientation/Training. High energy level. Eagerness to work with children. Willingness to learn. Patience, compassion, calm under pressure Ability to set clear, healthy boundaries Cultural sensitivity and non-judgmental attitude Understanding of child development and trauma-informed practices

Assist Adult Client Services department by providing transportation to clients to various appointments throughout the county as needed. Responsibilities Transportation for clients, to and from appointments; such as court or medical appointments, social service agencies (food stamp office, unemployment office, etc.) and other errands as indicationed by Adult Services. Qualifications Completetion of Volunteer Orientation/Training. Valid driver's license with the State of Indiana. History of a good driving record.
