Mission Statement

Four Corners Equine Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of equines, their rehabilitation, and their adoption into good, loving homes. We also strive to help educate owners and all people interested in horses to improve the lives of horses and the people that care for them.

Description

FCER is a small horse rescue that takes in horses that are owner surrenders and horses seized by the New Mexico Livestock Board. Upon entry, each horse is evaluated by our veterinarian, our farrier and our staff. A rehabilitation program is designed to fit the individual needs of each horse. Once medical rehabilitation is complete, the horse is evaluated again. Some are put up for adoption, others will be sent to a professional trainer, while others will retire to FCER. Adoptions are screened, with references checked, and a probationary period. We attend a variety of local events with a booth offering information about our rescue as well as fundraising. We offer educational programs for beginner horse people, as well as workshops for all ages.

I just volunteered after receiving Michele O'Bama's request for America to volunteer their services, especially at this time, in remembrance of 9/11. I hope to receive a positive request for my services from Four Corners Equine Services. I will also have my son, age 15, do his part as a volunteer, in hopes this is something he makes a part of his future passes on volunteering to his family, one day. Service, doesn't mean joining the military. Service is an act provided expecting only that communities come together for positive outcomes. Thank you. D. Duffy
