Mission Statement

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

The March of Dimes carries out this mission through programs of research, community services, education and advocacy.

Description

Since the March of Dimes defeated polio with the Salk and Sabin vaccines in the 1950s and 60's, we've worked to address threats to infant health like birth defects and low birthweights. Through our cutting-edge research and innovative programs, we've saved millions of babies from death and disability.
