Mission Statement

The Junior League of Fresno is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Description

The Junior League of Fresno was formed in 1948 as the Service League of Fresno and in 1959 was accepted into the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) AJLI is made up of over 290 Junior Leaues in four countries (United States, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain). Together we are one of the largest, international volunteer organizations for women interested in making a positve impact in their communities. Members of the Junior League of Fresno (JLF) are accomplished collaborators who build coalitions, identify community needs an eveloop effective and responsive programs to serve those needs. Each year, the Junior League of Fresno raises money for children in need with an emphasis on education and health through fundraisers. In 2006, the Junior League of Fresno was recognzed by the local chapter of the National Fundraising Executives as the outstanding non-profit organization for the Central Valley.
