Mission Statement

To improve the lives of children and families in Windham County, VT, by assuring access to high-quality, economically viable child care. We do this by:

  • Providing support, resources and training to early childhood professionals
  • Helping parents identify, locate and pay for quality child care and
  • Advocating for improvements in the early care and education system.

Description

Windham Child Care Association was founded in 1981 as the local child care resource and referral non-profit agency. Since that time, we have been providing services to families, child care providers and early educators, and the community in Windham County, VT.

We provide free child care referrals, assistance in determining eligibility for child care subsidies/tuition assistance, professional development and technical assistance for child care providers, and is the local sponsor for the federal CACFP program.

We also act as advocates for children and families in our community, state and nation. We represent these constituents in local and community activities, educate the public and business communities about issues related to early education, and provide resources and information.
