The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. Speech and Language Development Center is one of the largest accredited, non-public Pre-K through Post-12 schools in California providing therapy and educational services to children, youth and adults who have multiple disabilities and challenges. More than 250 students from 63 school districts and regional centers in Southern California are enrolled at our Buena Park campus. Founded in 1955, the Center's comprehensive curriculum treats students with diagnoses including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorders (more than 60%) Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, hearing impairment (at least 30%), emotional and behavioral problems, visual deficits, language-learning disorders, seizure disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
Friendly and entertaining staff who are willing to give so much of their time to help out a good cause. It's great to see bright, happy faces at 4:30AM on a Sunday! Had a great time and I'm will be volunteering every year to help out this school.
