Most of these hospice companies require a rather extensive multiple day orientation along with a lot of paperwork completion. Many assignments are located in rural areas, i.e., a lot of travel time. I felt it was somewhat a waste of time to undergo all the screening and have yet to volunteer as they only had assignments that required at least 1 hour travel time
