Mission Statement

"Enhancing the Quality of Child Care for Children"

Description

The Association for Supportive Child Care's Phone Friend Program is a free, bilingual "warm line" that children ages 5-18 may call to get homework help, play a game, hear a story, or just talk to someone during after school hours. Phone Friend helps children build self-confidence and problem-solving skills and encourages activities that promote self-sufficiency within parents' boundaries.

Phone Friend is funded by Valley of the Sun United Way, Arizona Republic Charities, Albertson's Community Partners, Glendale From the Heart, Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families, City of Chandler, Cox Charities, The East Valley Tribune and Clothes Helping Kids.

Talking with the kids on the phone and playing games and helping them with homework was a blast. Also the girls in the office are sweet hearts. It was a wonderful experience and had I not moved I'd still be doing it!
