Mission Statement

The purpose of My Hope Chest is to help restore self-esteem and dignity to breast cancer survivors by facilitating and funding, as needed, reconstructive surgery for those who do not have adequate financial means to afford such surgery.

  • To raise public awareness for this need, not only nationally, but worldwide.

  • To implement legislation that will require insurance companies to pay for mammograms for all women beginning at age 35 and for women 30 years old with a family history of the disease.

  • To educate within the school system the importance of self-exam from an early age.

Description

My Hope Chest provides FREE breast reconstruction surgery from participating plastic surgeons to qualified applicants by funding those surgeries.

We recognize that, for those that desire breast reconstruction after mastectomy, this is the final step in breast cancer recovery.

We are looking for volunteers to help raise awareness of our organization and of the need for our services through various methods.

We raise funds by soliciting donations, hosting events, and submitting grant proposals to funders.

We hope to include doctors in every state of the country to participate in the program so that ALL women in need of our services can be helped.
