Our Hospice of South Central Indiana affirms life. Our Hopsice exits to provide support and care for persons in the phases of incurable disease so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible. We recognize dying as a normal process whether or not resulitng from disease. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that , through appropriated care and promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them. Hospice objectives a re to extend the period of time in which patients can be safely, comfortably, and inexpensively cared for at home and for those patients who cannot be cared for at home, as a patient in the Hospice Inpatient Facility or other healthcare facilities; to develop an interdisciplinary team of professionls and volunteers who will provide comprehensive terminal care to the patient and family as a unit through competent pain and symptom control, comprehensive psychosocial and spiritual support and bereavement follow up; to act as an education resource to the community.
