Description

The Gift of Giving~The Gift Of Hospice! Our volunteers are the heart of our Hospice team. We depend on our volunteers to assist in providing support and care to our patients and their families during this challenging time in their lives. Some volunteers also choose to help via administrative support in the office or through other special projects as needed, based on their own talents. Our trained volunteers can offer support, companionship, and practical care to our patients and families. Whether it's running errands, sitting with a patient to provide relief for the caregiver, reading to a patient, helping a patient write in his or her journal, or simply providing the power of presence, Hospice volunteers are truly making a difference and are an integral part of our InCare Hospice Team. There's a lot to gain from being a Hospice volunteer, including satisfaction, greater self-knowledge, and spiritual growth. Volunteering as little as a couple of hours a month can provide assistance to a patient or their family when they need it most. The needs for each volunteer will vary from patient to patient. Because different families have different needs, you will be able to find an area of service that suits and satisfies your schedule and location best. Hospice volunteers come from all walks of life and simply want to bring a measure of peace and quailty of life to an ill patient's final days. As a Hospice volunteer, you will be oriented to the InCare Hospice program so that you can understand our mission, philosophy, and goals. We will give you the skills needed to assist patients and their families. You will find it to be the most rewarding thing that you can do to make a difference in your life and someone else's life. Volunteering affirms and enhances your acquired skills and knowledge. We offer free to all of our volunteers: Hospice Volunteer Training; two-step TB screening; Hepatitis B vaccine (optional); flu vaccine; blood pressure check; CPR training; and on-going quarterly inservice trainings. We certainly look forward to hearing from you and invite you to join our team!
