Mission Statement
Sunny Acres is a non-profit clean and sober living environment located on a 72-Acre Ranch in San Luis Obispo, California. Our program is targeted toward those individuals suffering from chronic addiction and homelessness.
We offer shelter on the Ranch while residents tackle their addictions. We provide residents the opportunity to exchange work for program fees, thereby making the program affordable for anyone who is ready to clean up and start a new life.
Description
Sunny Acres currently sheters 35 residents. We have had as many as 73 people living on the Ranch at one time. We are a self-supporting program and do not accept government funding.
We work with residents to regain their self-respect, dignity and independence. We do not place any time limits on our residents stay, some of or clients have been here as long as five years.
Sunny Acres provides a clean and sober living environment. We impose few rules on our residents, however, we do drug test our residents when alcohol or other drug use is suspected.
Our program accepts both adult men and women of all ages.
Our work program includes an agricultural project with attached roadside stand as well as a nursery project for outdoor nursery sales. These are the primary sources of income to the non-profit.
We also offer "ranch" work including animal husbandry, mechanical, welding and other tasks.
