Mission Statement

The misssion of the Center is to increase financial resources for low-income families and individuals by improving the effectiveness of existing public benefit and entitllement programs. Through its programs, research, policy analysis, training, technical assistance and advocacy, the Center reduces barriers for its low-income consstituency, allowing them to successfully access vital public programs thus promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Description

Monitoring and analysis of developments in human services programs targeted on low-income persons in Illinois. The Center also provides information and analysis to legislators and administrators concerning the implementation of human services programs in Illinois. Publication of manuals on public benefit programs, development of skills training progams for human services staff, and research projects to assess and evaluate particular human service programs.
