Mission Statement

The purpose of the Pinebelt Association for Families (P.A.F.F.) is to improve the quality of family life for people in southern Mississippi. P.A.F.F. will serve as a forum for discussion of family needs throughout the life span and as a catalyst for community efforts to address those needs. P.A.F.F. collects and distributes information, provides public education on family issues, supports new and existing programs serving families and provides direct service where appropriate. P.A.F.F. is committed to non-duplication of community efforts and cost effective use of resources. P.A.F.F. is a membership organization with members drawn from the entire community, including individuals, families, churches, businesses, schools and existing charitable organizations. P.A.F.F. is committed to keeping the Mississippi Pinebelt "family-friendly."

Description

We believe... • in supporting the growth and development of all family members ---the elderly, adults, youth, children, parents and non-parents. • that families are resources to their own members, to other families, to programs, and to the community. • that strong families and strong community go hand-in-hand. • that programs should be flexible and continually responsive to emerging family and community issues. • that a "family-friendly" community does not "just happen" but requires the efforts of the whole community working together.
