Mission Statement
Mom's House is a free, non-profit daycare for single, low-income parents who are attending school full-time. Our goal is to help these parents complete their educational goals so that they can obtain a full-time job that will enable them to support their small families. Mom's House also helps to save the community money by keeping these parents off the welfare rolls and their children out of subsidized daycare.
Description
Mom's House serves two generations. Parents do not pay a cent for our services which are made possible through donations from individuals, foundations, churches and other organizations. We serve single, low-income parents who are continuing their education full-time (high-school, GED, college or technical school). We are a state-licensed, non-profit daycare. We watch and educate the children while their single parent is attending school full-time. In exchange, the parent must do three hours service time for each week of daycare and also attend a monthly informational meeting (nutrituion, parenting, legal aid, etc.).
Mom's House supplies meals, snacks, diapers and clothing for the children in our program. We also help the parents with tutoring services, a study room, counseling and emergency food and supplies when necessary.
