Mission Statement

IGY is a national non-profit organization that empowers young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and young adults to accept themselves for who they are and flourish as individuals. IGY aims to support, encourage and guide Israel's LGBTQ youth, while simultaneously creating a strong, resilient network of young, self-assured LGBTQ leaders. We aspire to help create an Israeli society free of hatred and homophobia, and we hope to one day live in a society where every member enjoys equal opportunities.

Description

Through a multi-faceted structure IGY provides guidance, support, and empowerment to thousands of young LBGTQ Israelis every week. As a national organization it is our responsibility to provide services in every corner of Israeli society on a geographic and social level. Our weekly educational-socials support groups serve 2,000 young people every week. Additional we currently run 3 drop-in-centers which provide a safe space for LGBTQ youth at risk to get a warm meal, build community and seek assistance. IGY additionally runs a plethora of additional programming including lobbying, leadership development, educational initiatives in Israeli schools, an online forum that provides assistance to many thousands of young people every year.
