Bristol Hospice of Colorado Springs is looking for 11th hour volunteers. These volunteers are called to sit with patients that are actively dying or have passed. Patients who have little or no family members nearby often find themselves isolated and alone during their last days. Our 11th hour Volunteers provide a comforting presence needed by patients and families in the final hours of life. Vigil Volunteers can help by: Being a calm presence Sitting with the patient and/or family Talking softly or singing to the patient Sharing a sacred silence Holding hands, massaging hands or feet Praying, reading inspirational text or scripture Playing music If you are interested in being a part of this very sacred time in a person's life, please contact us for more information. Want to feel really appreciated? The need is real and we have many patients who would love your company. There are many ways to support our patients including companionship: reading, music, games, walking, light housekeeping, or just being present. Your gift of 4 hours a month can make a big difference to our patients and families. Bristol Hospice is a community leader in end-of-life care for patients and their families. In May we had a surprise CO State Licensure Survey and passed with 0 deficiencies - basically an A+ and won BEST Workplace in Colorado Springs!!

Animals connect to people and make their days a little brighter. Bristol Hospice is looking for pet owners who have animals that can visit 4 hours a month to our patients at their place of residence (which may be in an independent living community, assisted living, skilled nursing facility or memory unit). Many of our patients miss having an animal in their lives and this brings them such joy! We do ask that your pet had completed a basic training class, be registered as a Therapy Dog ($35.00 cost) with ADA or USA Service Dogs, have liability insurance and they be up to date with their shots. We are excited to meet you and your amazing animal!

Bristol Hospice understands that Veterans have special needs. We have such a large community of Veterans and wish to provide the best for our veteran patients. We are looking for Veterans who want to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of those facing terminal and end-of-life illnesses. There are many ways to support our patients including companionship, reading or games. Volunteers do not transfer, feed or change our patients and you do not need to have any medical knowledge. Your gift of 4 hours a month can make a big difference to our patients and families.
